A few blocks from the sand in Morro Bay, California is a sophisticated, yet casual, home on its way to becoming a new residence for a couple from the big city. I was retained to design a second home, maybe a rental; no specific decisions had been made. It was in the family for several decades & needed a major face lift. Nearly a year later as the design became a reality, the owners fell in love and decided to make it their permanent residence. What you see here is the upstairs great room, the hub of the home; it is still a work in progress. We gutted every room and remodeled; the photos show the finished construction. Superimposed over some of these photos are proposed furnishings that will be studied and critiqued over the days, weeks & months before their suitcases are packed and ready for their new lives.
